The iconic white dress worn by Carrie Fisher in “Star Wars” is up for auction

“Star Wars”, the story of intergalactic conflict between the various forces of the Federation, is one of the most iconic and famous Hollywood sagas that marked an entire generation. Carrie Fisher: The rise of the iconic character played by Princess Leia. The daughter of Senator Padme Amidala and Anakin Skywalker, who graced the first three installments, always stood out with her impeccable white dress, which will be auctioned between June 28 and 30 by the company PropStore Auctions in Los Angeles, California.

The auction will be one of the largest and most extravagant, as it will feature pieces considered “authentic jewels of the film industry” that Hollywood collectors are waiting for. The white dress used by Fischer during the filming of the first “Star Wars” in 1977 is listed as a “one of a kind fabric”, giving it an estimated value of between $1 and $2 million.

According to the firm’s employees, after the film was shot, the outfit was supposed to be discarded, but it was saved and stored in a warehouse in London for more than 30 years. It will also be auctioned with a metallic belt.

As The Hollywood Reporter pointed out, it’s the only surviving original piece from the famous saga, which was used when Leia presented the medallions to her brother Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. Created by Oscar-winning costume designer Jon Milo for his work in the films, the gown features a deep, low-cut V-neckline with draping flowing from the bust to sleeves that reach just below the knee. The fabric used is light cream white or ivory silk.
