If you’ve been waiting for September to get an iPhone 15 Pro Max, you should know that the latest information about its distribution isn’t particularly encouraging. While we’re expected to see the iPhone 15 and Apple Watch Series 9 and the second iteration of the Ultra in the second week of September, pre-orders for the Pro Max model will arrive with some delay.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max (possibly the iPhone 15 Ultra) will be the biggest loser in delivery times, according to a leaked note from an analyst consulted by 9to5Mac. This is because it will be the only model with a periscope system to improve the zoom compared to the 15 Pro model.
The sensor of this new camera would be signed by Sony, a manufacturer unable to deliver the hardware in time and allegedly responsible for the delays in manufacturing the flagship model of the iPhone family. This delay is expected to result in the iPhone 15 Pro Max only being available for the next few weeks October 6th or 13thalmost a month after the launch scheduled for September 12th.
An Apple custom
It’s not the first time Apple has resorted to delaying the delivery of certain models. The iPhone XR arrived later than the XS, the iPhone 12 mini and 12 Pro Max also arrived later than the 12 and 12 Pro, and the 14 Plus experienced shipping delays compared to the 14.
For the iPhone 15 of this generation, Big changes are expected. The basic models, which would repeat the processor of the iPhone 14 (A16 Bionic), would finally add the Dynamic Island and say goodbye to the notch.
This year the Pro models will be in the foreground. One of the biggest jumps we’ve ever seen is expected
But the meat on the grill will be on the Pro and Pro Max (Ultra) models. A 3-nanometer manufactured Apple A17 Bionic is expected, the USB-C connector is confirmed, the stainless steel is expected to be replaced by titanium and the historical volume mute button will be replaced with an action button in the style of the Apple Watch Ultra.
All these changes, except for a miracle, will be accompanied by an increase in the final price of the product. This would bring the base iPhone 15 Pro closer to the $1,400 mark and bring the Pro Max model close to or over $1,600. It remains to be seen how prices in Spain will develop after taxes.
