A Seventh District Court in Tamaulipas rejected the request for protection initiated by the Secretary General of the Government, Javier Navarrobecause of the possible obstacle to his service as office manager once Governor Samuel García makes his license effective.
In this way, the court recognized the person appointed by the Local Congress on Wednesday, Arturo Salinas Garzaas interim governor of the State for the corresponding period from December 2, 2023 t,o June 2, 2024.
“On October 29; The district court dismissed the application for protection; due because the specific case, it is the election of an official (Interim Governor of the State of Nuevo León), in which Congress has the power to resolve sovereignly or discretionally,” the issued document reads.
Since Salinas Garza’s time to exercise his right as an interim has not yet begun, the district judge considered rejecting Navarro’s request due to the impossibility of removing someone who has not yet exercised.
“You can only resign for serious reasons; However, as explained, his resignation will not happen because he has not yet started the work and therefore for the time being and while he will not materially assume the position, it is unlikely that a serious reason will arise as an interim governor where. he should quit,” it added.
It was October 28 when Javier Navarro reported that they wiwouldroceed in different ways against the appointment of Arturo Salinas Garza as interim governor, some of which are to highlight constitutional controversies and protections.
The request for protection was dismissed immediately the next day, October 29, so the only way iswashe controversy filed before the Supreme Court of Justice, or Governor Samuel García who did not make his license valid.
