The Kings fell early after losing to the Hurricanes

Raleigh, NC – Jespery Kotakaniemi and Jesper Fast scored in the opening two minutes and added an assist each as the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Los Angeles Kings 5-1 on Saturday night.

Brett Paes, Tuvo Teravenen and Jack Drury also scored for the Hurricanes. Brady Skazei had two assists to help Carolina win for the sixth time in their last seven games. Frederick Anderson blocked 32 shots, improving his career record to 10-1-3 against Los Angeles.

Playing their game in Minnesota on Tuesday night after Carolina was postponed due to the Hurricane’s COVID-19 situation.

Kotaknemi’s goal came in 37 seconds of the game. Exactly 59 seconds later, Fast scored a power-play goal.

Drury’s third-period goal netted him two goals in two NHL games.
