Star Wars fans can finally start their favorite TV series on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Disney announced a few hours ago that the first two seasons of The Mandalorian will be released in physical format this year. It won’t be the only Disney+ series finally going for a boxed release.
Starting with The Mandalorian, the show, starring Pedro Pascal and Grogu, will be available in stores in the US starting December 12, just in time for Christmas, at an undisclosed price. Each season is sold separately and in an edition with a metal case with a finish both inside and out that will delight its fans.
Before September 26, the first season of Loki It will be available on November 28th, Scarlet Witch and Vision. Loki is already progressing on several unreleased pieces of content, so expect something like this in both the other Marvel Studios series and The Mandalorian.
With subscription services, fans of Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios can enjoy all their content with just a few taps on their TV remote. However, the Mickey Mouse Company’s pursuit of exclusivity has discouraged collectors from adding this and other shows to their collections.
Now, it looks like Disney, in order to make the platform more profitable, is opening up to restore old customs that will hopefully prove successful.
