The Meta company recently decided to fix this problem and now allows images to be sent at their original resolution. This advantage also applies to videos, whose resolution has been increased to 1,280 pixels and is thus significantly higher than the usual 848 pixels.
How to send images in original resolution with WhatsApp
If you want to send an image via WhatsApp without any loss of quality, you don’t have to resort to the previously available methods, which were complicated and didn’t invite you to use them regularly.
All you have to do is open the WhatsApp conversation where you want to share the original resolution image, then click on the clip to share content and select the image to send.
Next, you will see a preview where you can change the image, add text or some emojis, rotate, and/or doodle it. In addition, a new button called “HD” is displayed at the top.
When you click on this button, WhatsApp will show two options: one for the “Standard Quality” with which the image will be sent if we use the application’s compression algorithm, while the “HD Quality” option will also appear that we must select if we want to send the image in its original resolution without loss of quality due to the compression used by the platform.
So far, this feature will only be available via the mobile device option on Windows, and the web version has not yet reached it.
