The National Board of Justice opened the ordinary disciplinary process against Patricia Benavides

Sources with knowledge confirmed that the Plenary Session of the National Board of Justice (JNJ) unanimously agreed to open the disciplinary process against the suspended former prosecutor of the nation. Patricia Benavides.

This is due to the apparently unjustified dismissal of the prosecutors responsible for a series of important investigations.

Above all, there is the case of prosecutor Bersabeth Revilla.

Revilla investigated Judge Enma Benavides, sister of Patricia Benavides, because of the alleged receipt of money in exchange for judicial favors of the accused accused of drug trafficking.

In memory, due to the alleged low productivity, Patricia Benavides removed Revilla from the Second Transitory Supreme Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Crimes of Corruption of Officials and placed prosecutor Azucena Solari Escobedo in his place.

Now the disciplinary process opened by the JNJ also includes Enma Benavides and the prosecutor, Solari.

It is said that this disciplinary process that will be subjected to the former National Prosecutor is not just what happened to Prosecutor Revilla.

Also for making unreasonable changes to the team that handled the emblematic White Collar case, among them was prosecutor Fanny Quispe.

Unity

The digital media outlet Epicentro also reported that Judge Inés Tello de Ñecco, who presided over the preliminary investigation, ended this phase last week and put his findings to the consideration of the Plenary of the JNJ.

According to the version managed by Epicentro, all the members of JNJ agreed that the facts presented by Judge Tello were very serious.

Therefore, the decision to move to an ordinary disciplinary process was made unanimously.

The three people involved—the Benavides brothers and the prosecutor, Solari—must offer their individual defenses against the accusations.

What comes next is the teaching phase.

The Regulations on Disciplinary Procedures of JNJ establish that the deadline for submitting the report to the Plenary Session is sixty days.

After that comes the decision-making stage, where the date and time of hearing the case will be set.

It should be noted that the JNJ has the power to apply any of the following sanctions: dismissal, dismissal, suspension and reprimand.

They give titles to judges and prosecutors

In the swearing in speech and presentation of the titles of 15 judges and prosecutors held last Thursday, the president of the National Board of Justice, Antonio de la Haza Barrantessaid that the constitutional body “will continue to contribute in its last year of governance to freedom, democracy and economic development by improving the administration of justice in an ideal and efficient manner.”
