The new Suzuki Hayabusa 2024 will have a variable distribution

It reappeared two years ago, heavily redesigned. We are talking about the legendary Suzuki Hayabusa, a very fast sport-turismo with a lot of personality, born almost 25 years ago.

Since then, the “Busa” has been modified several times, and from the first four-cylinder in-line engine with 1,299 cc and 175 hp, we went to the 1,340 cc and 195 CV of the current engine.

However, as UK Visordown has found out, the very fast 2024 Suzuki Hayabusa will see a major change in motorization, possibly starting next year when it turns 25. It’s about introducing variable distribution, which many brands have already introduced, both to achieve a more uniform response to all regulations and to reduce emissions.

According to the discovered patent, the new engine will use a hydraulic system to move the axes of the intake and exhaust camshafts depending on engine speed. In this way, an opening and closing of the valves according to the revolutions of each moment is obtained. All of this is managed by sensors and the system’s ECU.

It’s possible that Suzuki will take the opportunity to up the power a bit and reach or exceed 200 CV.

Suzuki adopted variable intake back in 2017, in this case on the hyper-sport GSX-R1000R unveiled at Phillip Island, which we tested for you back then. The latter uses a system of balls that move by centrifugal force and vary the opening of the valves.
