WhatsApp will allow users to send high-quality images in the future. That’s how it was announced by Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, the company that owns the “app,” in a message posted to his personal Facebook account.
Thanks to this option, available to all users with an update, when sending an image, you can configure it to reach the recipient in HD quality. The default quality remains the one that is available by default. Also, if you receive a photo while on a low-bandwidth connection, Internet users can choose photo by photo if they want to keep the standard version or upgrade to HD.
The “app” has announced that all users will be able to take advantage of this feature, which has been in beta for a few months, in the coming weeks. Both those using iOS and Android devices.
With this functionality, WhatsApp tries to compete with services like Airdrop on Apple devices, which allow sending high-quality images between bitten apple “gadgets”. The application has also announced that it will work for users in the near future can send high-quality videos via the platform. An exact date has not yet been announced, although the novelty will probably appear in a few months.

Beyond sending quality content, WhatsApp is working on developing other features that will be added to the service soon. The specialist portal WABetaInfo recently reported that the “app” is testing a function for Android “smartphones” that allows users to generate new personalized “stickers” thanks to artificial intelligence (AI).
The functionality of the tool would be very similar to that which is to be used in platforms for generating images with AI such as DALL-E or Midjourney. The user would give WhatsApp a description of the “sticker” they wanted and the application would generate it.
