News America, New York, NY, Mon. March 21, 2022: New York police are searching for the woman who allegedly shot dead a black Caribbean immigrant on Friday.

Stephen Stuart, 24, 26, a Jamaican immigrant, queued to buy coffee with a friend at a Dunkin’ location on E. Gun Hill Road. Near Matty Harris Pl. Friday, March 18 in Williamsbridgeth,

As he approached the register to pay for his iced coffee, a store employee said, a customer who lines up at the counter.

Then he said to them: “Why are you coming so close to me? why are you looking at my face? My boyfriend is out.”

The employee said the woman paid for her iced coffee via Apple Pay and left the store shortly before Stuart.

“She tells them to step back because they probably have COVID,” the source said.

The victim and his friend then left the shop, but the woman chased them, the source said. The woman can be seen making the call in the surveillance video.

Police said she then met a man between the ages of 17 and 25 and had another confrontation with Stewart. Police sources said that the man was her boyfriend.

Police said Stuart was shot in the torso just after 1:30 p.m., near E. 213 St., two blocks away on Holland Avenue.

Doctors rushed Stuart to Jacobi Hospital but could not save him.

Police on Sunday released a video of the woman who allegedly carried out the deadly shooting.

Police told Stuart’s devastated aunt that the shooter came up to her outside Dunkin’ and followed her before firing a shot.

“Stephen didn’t do anything to her. She was pushing him to do it,” said the woman, who was too afraid to reveal her name. “What kind of woman is she?”

Stuart moved to New York in December and worked at a Jamaican restaurant in the Bronx.

“She sent money back to support her mother and two sisters,” said the aunt. “Last week when I left the hospital he cooked the food, he cleaned, he did everything for me.”

Their son died in Jamaica after a phone call, Stuart’s mother fainted and was hospitalized.

“He didn’t deserve it. He really didn’t deserve it,” said his aunt through tears. “He was a very good soul.”

Police are still searching for the shooter, described as a black man who was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.
