They are interim prosecutors because to actually be elected they need the support of at least 86 of the 128 deputies in Congress.
Reaction to rejection
Angry at the swearing of Zelaya and Morazán, the head of the PSH bench, Jhosy Toscano, said that the call was not for the members of the commission, but for the two lawyers appointed to these positions, of which he said the following : ” They will disgrace the mantle, they lack the respect and principles of more than 30 thousand lawyers who are part of the Honduran Bar Association, who cannot lend themselves to this circus and these unconstitutional antics.”
“This is the plenary session, with 86 votes. So it is not a commission of nine people who are going to appoint them,” Toscano repeated.
In addition, he assured that if the designated interim prosecutors have ethics and love for the law, “they should come out in the media to say that they will not accept such a bad charge for nine illegal votes.”
