The National Assembly of People’s Power of Cuba (Parliament) today gave the population draft laws on Public Health and the Military Prosecutor’s Office to promote citizen participation.
Through the email comunicacion@anpp.gob.cu the population can send their doubts, criteria or proposals for regulations, as well as to improve the legal culture of citizens.
The Public Health bill seeks to establish the principles of organization and operation of health care, protection and recovery services, in addition to other activities inherent in it.
In the way that people’s right to health is guaranteed through free access and quality services, the text emphasizes.
A previous version of this proposal was examined by the representatives, during a joint session of the commissions on Health and Sports and Constitutional and Legal, at the beginning of the Tenth Ordinary Period of the IX Legislature of the Parliament, held on December 2022.
Recently, in the session of the Council of Ministers, corresponding to the month of September 2023, that body agreed to use the legislative initiative before the president of the National Assembly of People’s Power, after examining the proposal.
For its part, the law of the Military Prosecutor’s Office regulates the organization, functions and structure of the legal entity, as well as the selection, appointment, recall and responsibility of military prosecutors. The two proposals for regulatory provisions will be submitted to the analysis and discussion of the representatives, with a view to their timely presentation to the Legislature of the island.
