The President of Bolivia emphasizes the role of young people in industrialization

“With the strength and energy of our youth, we built the present and consolidated the industrialization of the homeland,” said the dignitary in a post published on his social networks.

Along with the text, Arce included photos of the meeting at the Casa Grande del Pueblo (headquarters of the government) with students from the Loretto School class, based in La Paz.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Public Finance, a few days before the third anniversary of the inauguration of the presidency of Arce (November 8) and the reconstruction of democracy after the coup that month in 2019, there were more than 140 industrial plants built across the country.

“We are the government of industrialization; we work tirelessly to lay the foundations for a diversified economy and replace imports,” said the dignitary in May of this year.

He then explained that the goal of all these ongoing projects is to develop industries that add value to raw materials in the national territory, in addition to creating decent jobs for Bolivian families as well as better income.

The initial fruits have been seen in sectors such as fertilizers, food, and glass containers, which stopped buying many products abroad, according to the National Institute of Statistics.

For its part, the Economic and Social Development Program (PDES 2021-2025) reported that the National Government has achieved the goal of reactivating the Cochabamba Ammonia and Urea Plant (PAU), paralyzed and with its damaged equipment, during the de facto regime of Jeanine Añez (2019-2020).

In this regard, the executive president of Yacimientos Petrolófilos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), Armin Dorgathen, assured that “2022 will be the first year in which 99 percent of the Bolivian consumption of urea is recorded; that is, it is almost completely replaced. Then the internal market is guaranteed.

On October 13, Arce also inaugurated the NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium) plant in Cochabamba with an investment of 63.7 million bolivianos, whose annual production capacity is 60 thousand tons of this product and granulated urea production.

Such a result makes it possible to cover internal demand and offers the possibility of selling these goods that are in high demand abroad.
