Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel sent greetings to the Chinese people and President Xi Jinping for the Lunar New Year, as reported here today.
In the letter, the Caribbean ruler expressed his good wishes for prosperity for this country regarding the Spring Festival and the arrival of the Year of the Dragon.
Díaz-Canel stated that the relationship between the two countries is expected to be strong and dynamic in 2024, always for the benefit of their people.
In the same way, he stressed that bilateral relations constitute an example of unity and cooperation between socialist countries and emphasized the joint effort to preserve the special nature of these relations.
The Caribbean leader took the opportunity to thank Xi for his congratulatory message on the 65th anniversary of the victory of the Cuban Revolution.
In the same way, he repeated the invitation to the president of China to visit the largest of the Antilles.
In a recent message aired on the CGTN channel, the island’s ambassador to China, Alberto Blanco, recalled that the two countries are good friends, good brothers, and good partners, an adjective that is also used by President Xi Jinping when referring to bilateral relations.
The diplomatic chief emphasized the pride of Cuba as the first country in Latin America and the Caribbean to establish diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China, founded by Mao Zedong.
