The president of uninfected Brazil has defended the epidemic

In a speech at the United Nations, Brazilian President Zaire Bolsonaro defended the fight against the Kovid-1 pandemic, saying science and history would hold everyone accountable.

Bolsonaro was the first world leader to address the UN General Assembly on 21 September.

“We support the vaccination effort. However, my administration does not support a vaccine or health passport or any other vaccine-related obligation, ”Bolsonaro said.

He said about 90 percent of adults and 80 percent of Brazil’s indigenous population have already been given a dose of the Covid-1 vaccine.

“We don’t understand why so many countries, together with a large section of the media, have taken a stand against taking first aid,” Bolsonaro said. “History and science must be knowledgeable enough to hold everyone accountable.”

Bolsonaro said his government has supported first aid since the epidemic began and he has also received first aid for Covid-1 for.

In July 2020, Bolsonaro posted on Facebook that he had recovered from Covid-1, a disease caused by the CCP virus. He also posted a picture of himself with a box of hydroxychloroquine at the time. He also criticized the isolation and lockdown measures during his speech, saying they “left a legacy of inflation, especially in foodstuffs around the world.”

“I have always supported that we should fight the virus and unemployment at the same time and with the same sense of responsibility,” the president said. He said Brazil created about 1.8 million new jobs in the first seven months of this year.

Bolsonaro also emphasized family, freedom of religion and freedom of speech in his speech.

“We believe that the enduring nuclear family is the foundation of civilization,” Bolsonaro said. “And human freedom is only complete with freedom of worship and freedom of expression.”

“Today, Brazil is one of the best investment destinations in the world. And it is in this General Assembly that we imagine a world with more freedom, more democracy, more prosperity and peace.

Balsonaro is the only G20 world leader without a vaccine. On September 20, when British Prime Minister Boris Johnson asked him if he had been vaccinated, Bolsonaro replied: “No. Not yet. “

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio launched a Covid-1 vaccine mandate on 1 Aug. For indoor activities such as dining, fitness and recreation, people must show evidence of vaccination against Covid-1.

The United Nations Headquarters in New York City is considered an international territory and is not subject to U.S. law. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told Reuters last week that the UN Secretariat “cannot tell the head of state if he is not vaccinated that he cannot enter the UN.”

On June 1, the United Nations developed the Covid-1 vaccine Honor System. Under the system, when diplomats swipe their UN ID cards at the entrance to the General Assembly, it is considered a declaration that they have been completely vaccinated against Covid-1.

De Blasio called Balsonaro at the September 20 press conference.

De Blasio said: “We need to send a message from Brazil, especially to all world leaders, including Bolsonaro, that if you want to come here, you need to be vaccinated.”

“If you don’t want to be vaccinated, don’t bother to come.”

Last week, de Blasio said the city would provide a free single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine at a site outside UN headquarters during the World Summit.
