The prosecutor concluded that Biden deliberately withheld documents

The mistakes and memory problems have always given a lot of talk about Joe Biden this time in his favor.

Special prosecutor Robert Hur concluded in a report that the US president “deliberately” withheld and disclosed classified documents, although he rejected filing charges against him because of his old age, his poor memory’ and for cooperation in all matters. , as reported by Europa Press.

“Our investigation uncovered evidence that President Biden intentionally withheld and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen,” the 345-page report read, adding that “no criminal cases are needed in this matter.”

In this sense, he explained the “reasonable doubts” that will exist if Biden is tried because he is an “old man with a bad memory.” “It’s hard to convince a jury that they should convict you of a serious crime that requires a voluntary state of mind,” he added.

In the document, the prosecutor explained that Biden showed “significantly limited memory” during the interrogations conducted in 2023. He even reported that the president did not remember the dates on which he sat in the vice presidency and had difficulty remembering the date of the vice president. after the death of his son Beau in 2015.

Nothing to do with Trump’s case

Thus, he accused the “clear” differences between the cases of Biden and his predecessor, Donald Trump, of being beyond the memory of each person. The former Republican president is accused of more than thirty counts of negligent use of confidential documents, which were found at his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.

For the prosecutor, “the most surprising thing is that, after receiving several opportunities to return classified documents and avoid prosecution, Trump said the opposite,” he said. On the other hand, he pointed out that the current president delivered the material to the National Archives and the Department of Justice.

Hur also emphasized that Biden agreed to search for documents in “multiple places,” including his homes, while he also conducted a voluntary interview, as reported by CNN.

Biden bragged that he was cooperating

Shortly after, Biden issued a statement in which he emphasized that the investigation was “complete” and began in the 1970s when he was a senator. “I’m glad to see that they concluded that I thought they would: that there are no charges to be filed in this case and that the matter is closed,” he said.

Also, he indicated that he cooperated with Hur’s work. “I’m not putting up obstacles, and I’m not looking for delays. I’m so determined to give the special prosecutor what he needs that I’ve continued five hours of in-person interviews over two days,” he remembered.
