The Congress will debate and vote today, Tuesday, January 30, on the approval of the Organic Law of amnesty for the institutional, political and social normalization of Catalonia promoted by the PSOE.
This initiative, processed urgently, received last week some “technical” changes agreed between PSOE, Sumar, ERC, Bildu, PNV, Junts per Catalunya and Podemos, which means the continuation of terrorism as a crime outside the application of the amnesty law. whenever it involves a serious violation of human rights.
In addition, they agreed that after the entry into force of the amnesty law, “the immediate lifting of any precautionary measures of a personal or real nature that may be adopted is agreed.”
For its part, the Popular Party has called many protests in the streets and Alberto Núñez Feijóo will defend his position against this law. In addition, the main opposition party suspects that the President of the Government will agree to “make terrorism cheaper” in the new “sessions.”
If the measure is approved by Congress, the law will begin its processing in the Senate, where the Popular Party has an absolute majority.
PSE warns Junts: “If you pull the rope too much…”
The general secretary of PSE-EE, Eneko Andueza, issued a warning to the Junts about the amnesty. “Some are very used to too much tension on the rope and, if the rope is cut, the risk returns to the table and the risk is called the government of the Popular Party with Vox.”
He also admitted that the situation is politically important and it is a moment “when anything can happen.” This is what Andueza explained to Junts’ demands in the negotiation of the amendments.
“When some say that the Socialist Party can sweat Chinese ink, I always remember the same thing, that those who can sweat Chinese ink are others if this country falls into the hands of the extreme right and the extreme right . And that risk remains. there,” he insisted.
