The Exorcist franchise returns to the big screen for the first time since 2005 in a new sequel called The Exorcist: Believer, which should heat the Halloween season, but this time it will also hit theaters in Spain on October 6, 2023, after it aired in the US when it was revealed that the documentary about a Taylor Swift concert had broken booking records.
This second trailer begins with Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn) visiting one of the possessed girls, who yells at her, “Are you looking for Regan?” She’s burning in Hell.” Then we travel back in time to meet the two young women who will be possessed by a demon. Fresh from the new “Halloween” trilogy, David Gordon Green has directed this fifth sequel for Universal, Blumhouse, and Morgan Bach, and it will reportedly pave the way for a new trilogy.
“Since the death of his pregnant wife in an earthquake in Haiti 12 years ago, Victor Fielding (Leslie Odom, Jr.) has raised his daughter Angela (Lidya Jewett) alone. But when Angela and her friend Katherine (Olivia Marcum) disappear into the woods, only to return three days later with no memory of what happened, a chain of events is set in motion, forcing Victor to face the depths of evil and his fear of dying and despair. Please find the only living person who has ever seen anything like this before: Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn).”
Also included in the cast are Ann Dowd, Raphael Sbarge, and Jennifer Nettles. Peter Sattler and Gordon Green co-wrote The Exorcist: Believer, which features a story by Green, Scott Teems, and Danny McBride. The film is produced by Jason Blum for Blumhouse David Robinson and James G. Robinson for Morgan Creek Entertainment. The executive producers are Danny McBride, David Gordon Green, Stephanie Allain, Ryan Turek, and Atilla Yücer.
