The St. Paul Port Authority is recruiting committee members to join the Urban Design and Sustainability Working Group for the Hillcrest Master Plan, a 112-acre former golf course designed to be redeveloped into housing and job opportunities on the downtown St. Paul’s East Side. expects.
The goal is to talk about how they can bring to life the master plan that has been approved so far in the final stages of planning.
The effort will involve four working groups: urban design, sustainability, outdoor space and housing. Urban Design and Sustainability will be the first of those groups to meet independently between January and May in early 2022. Applications are being accepted till December 15.
The Urban Design Committee will discuss building design, public art, open space, trails and more in relation to the neighborhood. Members of the Sustainability Committee will act as advisors to advocate for sustainability measures.
After each meeting, committee members will be paid for their time with a $50 Visa gift card. An additional $25 gift cards will be awarded for work completed outside of scheduled meetings. These stipends are funded with a grant from the East Side Funders Group.
