Abel Tobías Suárez, director of the institution, explained that they look forward to the quick opening of the area with new repair facilities, shared accommodation, and a pantry.
He promoted plumbing, masonry, painting, electricity, rehabilitation of air conditioning equipment, as well as the extension of construction maintenance to curettage locations and the development of the steam system in the kitchen.
He ensured the intervention of the Retomed Medical Equipment Company, Electromedicine Center of the territory, and the self-employed worker Carlos Saumel in the restoration of surgical and gynecological tables, and other clinical and office furniture.
According to the doctor, to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the prestigious center, many actions are being taken to maintain the infrastructure, to ensure the continuity of care for mothers and children in the province.
Regarding staff care, this means building a transportation route to facilitate the movement of workers from distant areas to the hospital, and the availability of beds and mattresses in medical dormitories, to provide greater comfort during shifts.
He also highlighted among the improvements the strengthening of workers’ nutrition and the organization of workshops and scientific activities, to encourage professional development.
The health system of Santiago de Cuba promotes the rehabilitation of health institutions, essential to the optimization of indicators while calling for the improvement of patient care with the appropriate use of available resources.
