The DGT regularly conducts campaigns to ensure that drivers obey the regulations and that the roads are as safe as they should be. The most common campaigns are speed enforcement, seat belt use, or even alcohol and drugs, but there are many more. When it finally did, the DGT found some incredible things as you can see below.
The speed is good
One of the most frequent fines in our country is undoubtedly the speeding fine. Maybe sometimes you received a notice where you were punished for violating the speed limits established on the road. If this is the case, you should know that the DGT has only one way to notify a fine, and that is by certified mail.
Regardless of the fine, driving faster than the speed limit is dangerous for you and other drivers on the road. If the penalties are not reason enough for you to stop racing your car, do it for the good of others and to avoid greater evils.
Use your cell phone in the car
Although you probably already know this because of the insistence of the DGT and the Civil Guard in the past years, it is forbidden to talk on your cell phone while driving. However, holding a mobile phone device in your hand while driving also entails a fine, namely 200 euros and 6 license points, as the new regulations consider it which is a “serious” offense.
But it doesn’t stop there, you can’t use your cell phone or other devices even if you don’t have it in your hand, because it will be punished with a fine of 200 euros and the withdrawal of 3 points from your driving license. In short, when you drive there should be no distractions nearby.
In its last campaign, the DGT sanctioned 6,719 drivers Shutterstock
In the last campaign conducted by the DGT (from October 9 to 15) the most violation was the one mentioned: holding the cellphone with the hand, with a total of 2,223 complaints out of 6,719 made during the entire campaign. However, what is surprising is the offenses committed by some drivers in this campaign which must be punished by the DGT.
In addition to fining drivers who tested positive for alcohol and other drugs, those who drove while distracted by some elements of the vehicle, or those who wore helmets, 48 people were sanctioned for driving. they eat (even with a spoon) and even a driver brushes his teeth behind the wheel.
