The Diplomatic Mission of the United States in Ecuador will not provide details on the case of Villavicencio “while the investigation by the Ecuadorian authorities is ongoing.”
The Embassy of the United States in Ecuador issued a statement on the evening of October 12, 2023, regarding the investigations into the murder of Fernando Villavicencio, a former assemblyman and presidential candidate.
The Diplomatic Mission’s statement maintained that the United States “seeks to unite the efforts of the Ecuadorian authorities”.
