The Minnesota Energy Assistance Program offers residents free help paying their overdue bills. In this sense, not only the owners of the house can be qualified, but also the renters.
As stated by the entity, applications will be received before May 31, 2024. In addition, the qualification for the program will depend on the size of the house and the level of income. Likewise, those households that receive approval from the program will be notified immediately.
Here it is valid to point out that the amount of assistance for payment of bills will depend on how the services of the house are functioning. For example, the first average profit is $500.00 USD and up to a maximum of $1400.00 USD.
However, one of the advantages of the program is that it will provide up to $600.00 USD in additional grants.
This is for eligible residents who need help to avoid being cut off. In addition, there is also the case of those people who have to pay their bills to reconnect to heating or electricity.
Who is eligible for the Energy Assistance Program?
There are several factors that determine eligibility for the program, such as the size of the home and the last three months of income.
Additionally, to receive bill payment financing, household income of four people must be a maximum of $62,822.00 USD per year to qualify. This was announced by the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
Meanwhile, in order to submit an application to the State of Minnesota Energy Assistance Program, some steps that have been previously established must be followed.
The first thing is to provide all the names of the household members, income and household information. Finally, the Social Security number and the names of the companies that offer public services at home must also be presented.
