The United States Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Space Exploration Technologies Corporation
The lawsuit alleges that Space is in violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).
In this regard, the Justice Department claims that in its job advertisements and public statements, Space X falsely claimed it could only hire US citizens and legal permanent residents as a result of federal regulations when export control laws do not provide for such restrictions on hiring.
“Our investigation found that Space is the civil rights branch of the Department of Justice, said Kristen Clarke.
Likewise, the complaint states that the recruiters and senior staff of STempo X “Take action to actively discourage asylum seekers and refugees from looking for work opportunities with the company.”
“Through this lawsuit, we will hold Space X accountable for its illegal employment practices. We will seek help that enables fair competition for asylum seekers and refugees to seek job opportunities and bring their talents to the SpaceX workforce,” he added.
