The Cuban leader, on behalf of the Cuban Party, Government and people, expressed his congratulations for the success of the recently concluded III Forum on the Belt and Road Initiative, in the context of its tenth anniversary, and approved the league -on support of Cuba around the world. initiatives promoted by the General Secretary of the CC CCP and Chinese President Xi Jinping, as well as the willingness to cooperate with China in building a Community of Shared Destiny for Humanity.
The vice prime minister of Cuba recalled the role of the two leaders in the insertion of Cuba into the Belt and Road Initiative, with the signing of the accompanying Memorandum, on the occasion of the visit of President DÃaz Canel to China in November 2018; and, subsequently, with the signing of the Cooperation Plan for the promotion of the Initiative itself in December 2021.
Cabrisas also confirmed the relevant role of conducting the XXX session of the Intergovernmental Commission, which will play a decisive role in promoting the effective participation of China in the PNDES 2030 in Cuba and the promotion and strengthening of cooperation in all places. The agreements adopted within this framework will set a guideline for the revival of relations in all areas, based on the realization of the consensus reached between the main leaders of Cuba and China, Miguel DÃaz- Canel and Xi Jinping, during the visit to China. on the first of November 2022, and which was renewed in the official talks held at the XV BRICS Summit in August 2023 in Johannesburg, South Africa, he emphasized.
For his part, the vice-premier of China emphasized the special nature of bilateral relations, characterized by coincidences at the political-ideological level, the exchange of experiences in the respective process of socialist construction with their own characteristics and cooperation in all sectors.
The two parties agreed on the desire to strengthen and expand bilateral relations, especially in the current context, based on the strengthening of unilateral and coercive measures towards the two countries, which is reflected in the strengthening of blockade to Cuba and the unilateral sanctions against China. the discrediting campaigns against the two countries.
This meeting allowed us to review the current state of bilateral economic, commercial, financial and cooperation relations; its performance in the final stage; and the projections for its strengthening in the short, medium and long term, based on the development of actions and projects in strategic sectors of mutual interest.
