To improve the quality of their lives, hundreds of people apply every year to immigrate to the United States alone or as a family. This is due to the desire to find a job with a better salary than in the countries of origin, take advantage of the cultural exchange and learn or strengthen the second language, which is also one of the most spoken.
As immigration comes, in large part, from Latin America, it is also common in various areas of the United States. Trying to change the environment and engage in other habits does not always result in established goals and that is what happened to Callie Kuchan, who, together with her partner, got a ‘surprise’.
Woman who was ‘disappointed’ when she moved
He was used to the traditional routine of Chicago and considered that moving to a rural area was like finding himself permanently on vacation. Nothing could be further from the truth, at least, in the case of Kuchan, whose story has so far accumulated more than 308,000 views on the said platform.
“Because we told people to (return to the city), they thought we had lost our minds. (…) Living in the mountains is everyone’s dream and it has been mine for a long time and after living here there are some things that bring me back to reality. I want to say that I am very grateful. “I spent the best four years of my life here,” he commented.
“It’s very difficult”
In principle, the North American emphasized the cost of living as one of his reasons for leaving the tourist site, because his intentions to have his own house began to fade away, despite having many jobs. “I don’t need anything big, nothing fancy. I just need a place with a garden,” he said.
“You can’t get rich in the ski industry (…). “What you think about is a more relaxed lifestyle and going on vacation 24/7 where you don’t have responsibility, so I think it’s more difficult,” said the American.
His complaint focuses on how he sees other people enjoying a temporary tourist environment, while in his case living there has become completely routine. “You are sitting in front of the computer. “Works all day (…), unless you’re a rich retiree or independent.”
Another aspect due to which he failed to achieve his expectations was the ‘difficulty’ of socialization, something that, according to him, was made worse by an ‘ephemeral’ panorama.
“It’s very difficult to find friends here because a lot of people are passing by. That’s very sad (…). “You don’t find as many people as in the city (though), there are a lot of retirees because it’s an exclusive place.” As such, the situation led him to return to Chicago with his partner.
