Social workers from Cienfuegos received congratulations and recognition during the celebration of the 23rd anniversary of this program designed by Fidel Castro to undertake tasks that have a major impact on the population.
On that September 10, Fidel explained to the students “the sacred duty to demonstrate all that a just, supportive and truly human society can achieve.” He described them as doctors of the soul and warned them that “they should understand the situation of all children, of the old people, of almost the entire society.”

They also took on tasks of an economic nature in order to maintain the legality of the processes, in particular the provision of services. They reached every settlement, no matter how complicated, and became connected to the cultural system by working with the promoters of community arts.
In Cienfuegos they were celebrated on the occasion of the birthday of the project, which, in a historical context, works for the nation to care for neighborhoods and people in precarious conditions. The individual commitment was expressed by signing the code of ethics and personally supporting those who stood out.
