The deputy for Asturias José María Figaredo will participate this Sunday in the demonstration called by the Foundation for the Defense of the Spanish Nation (Danaes). The representative spokesperson of Vox in the Congress explains in this interview the reasons of his party to participate in this mobilization, which will take place in the Plaza de Colón in Madrid, and where he calls “all the Asturians who can go” to participate.
–What prompted Vox to join the concentration called Danaes?
–-We are in a critical time, we must fight for the unity of the country. We are facing the great risk of a Government that may be formed with the enemies of the country, who demand its dissolution as a condition of giving their support to an investiture. We must take to the streets to stop this.
–PP called another event on the same day in Malaga. Do you think they are afraid of another picture of Columbus?
– To be honest, I couldn’t tell you. I also don’t want to analyze the situation in PP. When we received the invitation from Danaes, without hesitation we confirmed our attendance in a second. They told me that other party leaders are going, like Esperanza Aguirre and Jaime Mayor Oreja; So is Rosa Díez. I just know that we, as it is impossible otherwise, will be there as we always do with any invitation for the defense of the country.
–The motto of the Danaes mobilization is “Defense unity! Against the amnesty and the coup of Sánchez!” Do you see a blow to the negotiation between PSOE And the independentists?
-Undoubtedly, we see the risk or attempt to make a real coup from power. It is obvious that their intention and the reason for this movement is to prevent the Government from carrying out this coup. From the highest level they negotiate the union of Spain, with intangible assets that are not theirs, with the aim of staying in power illegitimately.
–Is it not legitimate to negotiate with wishes to make an investiture?
–It’s not just a question of votes. The unity of the country is unfathomable, it is the rock on which the Constitution is based, the element that unites all Spaniards. The amnesty they propose means the submission of the entire national legal system so that those who attack national unity are not punished. The coup plotters will be given amnesty and those who have fulfilled their duty, the police, the civil guard and the police, will be prosecuted. That violates the entire mandate of the constitution and is contrary to substantive justice.
-Did you see the agreement between the PSOE and the independentists?
–I have no idea, but I trust not and that this great mobilization will serve to prevent that agreement. I hope we can stop this scourge that is damaging the whole country.
