These 37 Bed Bath & Beyond stores are closing

The plans, announced two years ago, are part of Bed Bath & Beyond’s multi-year transformation, which includes creating new, private label, remodeling stores and focusing on e-commerce under CEO Mark Tritton.
The affected locations will be closed by the end of February and are currently undergoing a liquidation sale.

The company has been hit with falling sales and declining foot traffic in recent years, as buyers have missed out on competitors, such as Target ,TGT, And heroine ,AMZN,, which is similar to the home item sold by Bed Bath & Beyond.
Triton joined Bed Bath and Beyond Target ,TGT, three years ago and over the years has led the company through a turnaround as home shoppers increased their spending on kitchen and home essentials.

The retailer released earnings Thursday and missed analysts’ expectations. Same-store sales slipped 7% with sales of $1.9 billion, a 30% decline from the same quarter a year ago. Tritton said supply chain issues and a lack of inventory caused the company to lose about $100 million.

Shares were up about 4% in Thursday’s trading.
