These are the days of mandatory rest

The SEP school calendar in our country is only in its first months, however, November is approaching, and that means that a mega bridge is about to arrive for all basic-level students in Mexico.

According to the official calendar of activities for the 2023-24 cycle of the Ministry of Public Education, from November 17 to 20, preschool, elementary, and secondary students will not have classes in their schools, due to two reasons.

The first is that on Friday, November 17, the usual administrative discharge will take place, where teachers will register the grades of their students in the SEP system, while November 20 is a day to commemorate the beginning of the Revolution. Mexican.

These two dates, along with the weekend of November 18 and 19, become a mega bridge of four days of mandatory rest for all students at these levels in our country.

In the case of young people studying in high school and higher education, and workers in general, the long weekend will include only three days, from November 18 to 20, considered by the Federal Labor Law as an official rest day, so If you work, you should be paid twice.

Is the Day of the Dead a mandatory day of rest?

Regarding the celebration of the Day of the Dead, this holiday does not represent an official day of rest for Mexican laws, so unless an exception is made for a particular task, workers must work on November 1 and 2 as normal.

Despite this, SEP students have November 2 as a day of rest, while on the first day of this month, they have to report to class.
