The opening of a normal preschool and primary school in the south of Tamaulipas was requested by the Ministry of Public Education of the federal government because this type of school exists in the area but is private.
“There is a need to have public schools for the training of teachers in the regions of Tapico, Madero,, and Altamira because the offer of education in this regard is not enough in scope and quality”, said Guadalupe Covarrubias Cervantes, a member of the Senate of the Republic.
The retired teacher also submitted a written request to the Ministry of Public Education, whose head, Leticia Ramírez Amaya, he met in recent days in Mexico City.
Tampiqueña pointed out that the public normal school for elementary and preschool is of great benefit because there are people who have a vocation to teach but cannot pay for a private school or move to another part of the country, so they miss school.
The request was formalized with the intention not to stay with good intentions but to find a way to include the project in the action route of the Ministry of Public Education.
Normal schools are the training institutions for teachers in Mexico. In these spaces, future teachers will acquire the necessary skills not only to teach children but also to promote the values that strengthen- their identity as normalists.
It is worth mentioning that the Political Constitution of the United States of Mexico grants the right to education to every person and determines the responsibility of the state to guarantee its quality, as well as the suitability of teachers to guarantee the highest success of students.
An instrument that can create equality among teachers is the normal school, where teachers with educated generations have been trained for decades.
