A Venezuelan was arrested for killing a Colombian on the side of the road in San Bernardo (Chile).
The events take place during a kidnapping, in response to which the Metropolitan Homicide Brigade of the PDI took action and put the alleged perpetrators behind bars.
The victim’s body was found on January 10 along the Santa Teresa de Tango road.
In that area, pedestrians noticed the body lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. This is a 20-year-old Colombian citizen.
After the investigations carried out by PDI detectives, in the last hours, the arrest of a 22-year-old Venezuelan man was achieved.
According to the authorities, the arrested will drive the car where the victim was brought to the place.
The deputy chief of the Metropolitan Homicide Brigade, subprefect Gabriel Alarcón, indicated that they were able to identify the alleged perpetrator through security camera images.
He added that they recovered the clothes he was wearing on the day of the crime and that, at the moment, it has not been determined if he was the one who fired the shots.
Alarcón also explained that the victim had a complaint because of the alleged accident on January 8, and it was found that she was kidnapped.
He added that the detained Venezuelan citizen has irregular immigration status.
