Security camera images helped investigators find the motorcyclist suspected in the crime of Moreno tourist Mauricio Grasso, 40, who was shot in the head early Monday morning. But the tracking was done backward; that is, the man was located from the time he left work until he crossed the road of the truck the victim was riding in.
A few blocks away from his workplace, an ice cream parlor, he was arrested there on Wednesday afternoon when he showed up for work. He is 33 years old, and according to sources in the case, he has experience as a shooter. Grasso received a 9-millimeter shot to the head.
It was early Monday morning, after 4 a.m. Grasso and a 39-year-old friend also from the town of Moreno, like him, and two friends from Mar del Plata left the Momentos bowling alley in Bolívar and Santa Fe, where they went to dance.
They were traveling in the back seat of a Hilux van. At the corner of Independencia and Bolívar, the person who was the passenger of the driver saw two motorcycles side by side making “cuts” and counter-explosions using the exhaust pipe.
“Well, king,” the man told them, a phrase meant to be a compliment. The truck turned right and continued to Bolívar until September 20. It is in the macro center of the city.
The woman who accompanied Grasso when he saw the motorcycles following them was able to warn him when the explosion was heard. The shot entered the back window of the truck and struck Grasso in the head. The same doctors confirmed his death a few minutes later, at the scene.
The trail of the motorcyclist who fired the shot disappeared a few blocks ahead. That’s why the investigators examined the images before the meeting on Independence Avenue.
That’s why they found the place where the motorcycle was left—an ice cream parlor in the center. Another motorcyclist, who was with a woman, disappeared outside, on the west side.
The man was arrested by the Homicide Office of the Investigation Department. It is believed that this Thursday he may testify before the prosecutor, María Florencia Salas, who is in charge of the case.
