A program to build 50 houses for the workers of the Horquita Agricultural Company, in Cienfuegos, with the coordination of the provincial government, was carried out here in the short and medium term.
According to Rolando Pérez Ramos, general director of the abreunse entity, today they have 10 of those buildings started whose completion is estimated, according to the schedule, ready to be delivered before the end of the year, to greet the arrival of the 65th Anniversary of the victory of the revolution.
The manager added that the typology adopted is block walls, light roof, slab floor and metal carpentry. With 70 square meters of living space, they have comfortable rooms and their design responds to the composition of the family nucleus. All the houses are built on properties where the future tenants work.
The criteria for the designation of the property is and from now on for farmers, whether usufructuary, members of labor groups or agricultural workers that make up the Horquita-Juraguá productive center, considered the largest of its kind in the territory in Cienfuegos.
“Until this moment, from a legal point of view, the housing is considered a fixed asset of the Company, so as not to lose the assets of the company, also in favor of the stability of the workers,” Pérez Ramos clarified.
Regarding the impact of this benefit, Virgen Vera Reyes, head of the labor group of the irrigation machine number 3 of the Carmelina Producer Assistance Base Business Unit, expressed the satisfaction that she felt to soon have a house with these conditions and “in way of their land to better serve and take care of them,” said the woman from Santiago who became a Horquiteño.
