With the introduction of the preservation of national culture and identity, the José Martí Brigade of Art Instructors celebrated the ceremony of the province of Unión de Reyes for its nineteen years of existence.
Cuban history, tradition, and identity are given to the people of Unión de Reyes in a political and cultural movement based on the values of the island’s identity. Rumba, décima, and dances performed by teachers and children from different cultural institutions were not missing during the day of celebrations.
Yoanis Valdés, president of Brigada in the province, commented that the main objective of the group of artists is to bring the best of Cuban culture to neighborhoods and communities that are difficult to access.
He explained that the municipality of Unión de Reyes was chosen as the provincial headquarters for the central activities because of its results and congratulated his colleagues for the good work they do every day.
The occasion will be happy to show through cultural moments the work of instructors in a city with many exponents of Cuban culture.
Noslén González, deputy director of provincial culture, highlighted the constant work and initiatives carried out by the teachers of the Union.
The Deputy Provincial Director of Culture commented on the challenges that Unionense teachers have in seeking to strengthen and diversify the work they do.
The instructors of the José Martí Brigade in the southern municipality of Matanzas dedicated the activities of the Cuban Culture Day and the creation of Houses of Culture.
As an idea of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, the organization that unites art teachers emerged in 2004. From the commitment to bring art to the entire geography of the Union, the men and women dedicated to the preservation of Cuban roots and idiosyncrasy work. (ALH)
