A day with severe risk of fire was again experienced in the province this Friday. The scene will be repeated on Saturday, in the presence of high temperatures, with strong winds and a persistent drought.
An outbreak, starting at 2 pm, created the greatest concern: it was recorded in the Traslasierra valley, between Las Tapias and Villa Las Rosas, and led to the cutting of Route 14 between the two towns, which created severe complications due to traffic delays. Several fire stations and agents of the Etac provincial forces are working in the area, as well as hydrant planes. Around 8 pm this Friday, the Ministry of Government and Security reported that the fire was contained, with unstable perimeters.
The fire has also become complicated due to its advance near the urban area. Because of that, there are evacuations as a precaution. The fire reached the route itself at several points.
Another fire was also created in Traslasierra, where many fire crews are working this Friday afternoon, in the Las Calles area, near Nono. This focus is also included, the County reports.
Another outbreak, mainly burning the remains of rural straw, fought in the rural area of Las Bajadas, between San AgustÃn and Almafuerte, on the national route 36. That road is also closed to traffic because of presence of smoke, until around 16 were released while the fire was under control.
Strong winds and poor visibility
The Provincial Risk Management Secretariat also warned that on Friday night and Saturday morning there will be strong winds especially in the north and northwest part of the map of the province.
Added to the risk of fire is the risk of storms on the ground that reduce visibility and increase the danger of the routes.
