This brand introduces new ice cream flavors and ventures into other categories: The Food Tech

United States.- My/Mochi focuses on innovation beyond ice cream, as in addition to launching new flavors, it also announces its expansion into other categories of the confectionery industry.

The sweet gluten-free chewy rice flour that has been a part of Japanese culture for centuries began making its mark in the United States in the 1990s, but has only recently become popular around the world, largely due to the traction on social media.

The brand has been at the forefront of making mochi accessible, fun, and easy for people to experiment with through its extensive ice cream offering, and now they’ve got the runway to do so much more.

To that effect, the company recently announced the addition of Mondelēz International’s Brigette Wolf as director of marketing. Wolf’s 20+ years of marketing and innovation experience with the snack brand will be instrumental in accelerating the growth of My/Mochi.

Innovation, ice cream and new products

In the latest edition of Expo West, the company presented its new products:

Grain Mochi Ice Cream + Milk: Building on the social media and college cafeteria trend of mixing grain and ice cream together, this premium graham-flavored grain ice cream wrapped in a deliciously chewy mochi batter can make ice cream for breakfast a new tradition.

Morning Mochi – Mochi can quickly become your morning staple. A new line of smoothies wraps premium fruit puree in a smooth rice mochi batter, providing antioxidants and a good source of vitamins B and C. The first two flavors, Strawberry Banana and Mixed Berry, are now available nationwide.

Flavor Explosion: Four new flavors will be added to the brand’s premium ice cream portfolio in the second quarter of this year: Ube, Strawberry with Boba, and popular favorites Café and Passion Fruit.

Notably, all of the company’s products contain 100 calories or less, are gluten, soy and nut free, and contain no GMOs or artificial ingredients. The brand also offers vegan and non-dairy options.
