In the middle of the Summit “Bicentennial Colombia – United States” held by the Colombo-American Chamber of Commerce (Amchan), 5G technology in the country was discussed and how these digital services are in favor of economic development and sustainable growth.
As indicated by the Minister of Information Technology and Communications (ICT), Carmen Ligia Valderrama“the setting for this conversation is very important so that the National Government, and especially from the Ministry of Technology, can share this progress.”
According to government figures, there were 29 million connections in the country in 2018 and “Today we can already tell the country that by 2021 we already have 44 million connections. That means that without a doubt, this year we are going to have more than 45 million connections”, assured Valderrama.

5G technology
As indicated the ICT minister, pilot projects for 5G technology are being carried out and he stressed that there are 50 real points, which are completely successful results where “we are extending the times so that they can have more opportunity among so many, the permanent policy is consolidated.”
