Although Keanu Reeves proves to be the perfect choice to play the killer, Danny Trejo brings a very quirky touch to the character.
John Wick was all over again this spring with the premiere of the fourth film in the action saga starring Keanu Reeves. The theft of his car and the murder of his dog, the last gift from his late wife, prompt this ruthless killer to don his suit again and launch a brutal vendetta.
As we accompany him on the bloody journey of John Wick, we are drawn into a world of high tables, Continentals, and a myriad of increasingly colorful assassins and outfits.

Keanu Reeves has proved the right choice four times to wear John Wick’s armored suit. Each film in the saga is a symphony of brutal action that leaves little time to rest.
But what if another actor embodied the character to give it a slightly different perspective? What if John Wick was called not Jordani Jovanovich, but Juan Wick, and he was born in Mexico instead of Belarus?
Danny Trejo: A more mature version of John Wick
Mexican actor Danny Trejo, who has films such as Machete or From Dusk Till Dawn, shared AI-generated images of Midjourney that imagine him as John Wick, the Latino version of Juan Wick.
The actor accompanies the images with a recognizable motto: “They just mess with the wrong Mexicans”, evoking both the spirit of the John Wick saga and some of its most iconic characters, such as Machete.
It has to be said that Danny Trejo fits very well into the suit and style of John Wick, and would fit badly into the world of the Continental Hotel, High Table, and Receipts.
In fact, the strange thing is that Chad Stahelski & Co. hasn’t given him a chance to be a part of the franchise, although he always is on time. What do you think about John Wick? Would you give a Mexican version of John Wick a chance?
