A scene repeated in miserable Cuba was shared on the Instagram channel of Cubans around the World.
In the audiovisual you can see a large group of Cubans in the back of several trucks carrying food for the starving population.
“They don’t even know what the trucks are carrying, but because of their need, people fall behind them, just to score,” says the Cuban recording the scene.
It is believed to have been recorded in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba, one of the most important cities on the Island, and with a high rate of poverty.
It is a sad fact that, no matter what the state press hides, it leaks and goes viral in the world through social networks.
Easterners who chase the trucks know that the drivers have already transferred money to their homes or to the informal market.
They also know that production is low and freight is “small money” for a large population of common people, who cannot access MSMEs and can pay exorbitant prices.
Netizen @wichman_realestate commented “How sad. “I saw it before in a movie called (The Fall of the Black Hawk) about the same thing about a failed state in Somalia.”
For @mamicuban4 it’s about “Hunger and misery, this is how they control people”, he declared, while @norbertoibanez77 declared “That’s why people are busy looking for food and that way they don’t have time to express themselves.”
The truth is that it happens in a country where there is no production of almost anything and the paternalistic State tries to distribute through a book of supply, a “quota” that is never enough.
The residents of Santiago behind the trucks are sure of the failure of the political, economic and social system that should have long disappeared from the front of history.
