At the end of last year, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 was undoubtedly one of the phones in which quality and price were best balanced. Sober and without noise, the termination obtained (and obtains) the best results, becoming one of the best sellers in its segment.
Now Xiaomi has just introduced the next generation family. Note Redmi 12 are already a thing and hit the market in four versions: the basic note Redmi 12 note Redmi 12 5G, another 12 Pro 5 G and 12 Pro+ 5G. Prices start at 229 euros, or 500 euros in the top model, depending on the selected features.
The all-new Redmi Note 12 clearly follows in the footsteps of its predecessors, although they present significant improvements in the image and battery sections. The idea, which has been applied to all the models in the series, is to bring as many characters as possible to the mid-range. And it is not brutal, as can be seen from the specifications.
For example, the new Redmi Note 12 Pro+5G, the most powerful in the family, sports a 200-megapixel main camera, with optical image stabilization (OIS), with an ultra-wide-angle camera and another macro. An offer difficult to find in other southern terminals of the range.
Somewhat less ambitious, although interesting, is the photographic offering of the Redmi 12 Pro 5G brand, which mounts a 50-megapixel IMX766 as the main sensor, which also accompanies an ultra-wide angle and macro lens.
Both models also incorporate AMOLED screens, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and flexible materials (P-OLED) that allow thinner bezels.
As for the batteries, the two phones have a 5000 mAh battery, but the 12 Pro+ 5G model offers a 120W fast system that stays at 67W in the 12 Pro 5G.
In both cases, the chosen processor is the MediaTek Dimensity 1080, one of the most popular chips in the range. Built with 6 nanometer technology, it has an eight-core CPU (two at 2.6 GHz) and a Mali G68 GPU.
The prices of the Redmi Note Pro+ 5G start at 499 coins, and the Redmi Note Pro 5G at 399 coins.
Redmi note 12 and 12 5G, simple and powerful
The two simplest members of the Xiaomi family share some features with the previous two, although they ‘let the hook’ on others. For example, screens with a refresh rate of 120 Hz are still there, which guarantees the fluidity of any content that we see on them. And the processors are different: Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 for the 12 5G and Snapdragon 685 (which does not support 5G) for the basic Redmi 12.
At both ends, the battery is still 5,000 milliamps, but it is reduced to 33W when running fast. Both also include a triple camera, although far from the features of the two previous models.
As for prices, the basic Redmi Note 12 will be available starting from 229.99 coins, while the version with 5G will start at 279.99 coins.
Redmi Watch 3, 12 days of battery
The Chinese giant also took the opportunity to present a new smart watch for captives, the Redmi Watch 3, designed so that its screen can be seen without problems even in full light, incorporates GPS and resists up to 5 atmospheres of water pressure underwater. The game offers 121 different modes, six of which are recognized automatically, and allows, among others, the monitoring of blood pressure, heart rate or sleep quality.
