A team of more than 75 Disneyland employees from more than 20 departments worked around the clock, seven days a week to open This Small World during the post-flood holidays.
The Little World project team was quickly assembled after the underground technical room was flooded while replenishing the water attraction in the early morning hours of November 10, shortly before the holiday version of the attraction was due to debut on Christmas 2021 in Anaheim. theme park.
Every year this small world undergoes seasonal changes due to the holidays, which usually requires several weeks of work, mostly night crews. The Small World kits were not damaged during the flood.
The holiday version of It’s a Small World was due to reopen on Thursday, November 11, to host the first Merriest Nites after hours and be ready for the Disneyland holiday season to kick off on Friday, November 12.
After flooding repairs, Small World is back in time for the last two Merriest Nites of the year on Tuesday and Thursday, December 7 and 9, and the end of the Disneyland and Disney California Adventure holiday season through January. nine.
