Last Thursday evening, shortly before nightfall, a procession of about thirty vehicles displaying the flags of Quebec and Canada appeared in front of the former Chief Government Whip Legault’s residence in a cul-de-sac.

“It was Legault bullshit, Lefebvre and liberty, fuck liberty!” Then, we took the time to stop in front of our house and that’s where all the despair grew, ”Eric Lefebvre said in an interview with our investigative office.

Mr Lefebvre was at home with his wife and 16-year-old daughter-in-law.

two videos

In two videos of less than a minute each, seen by our Bureau of Investigation, vehicles sped past Mr. Lefebvre’s home, relentlessly blowing their horns and shouting inaudible words at the CAQ candidate’s location.

Although most screamers are drowned out by the sound of the horn, a driver in an SUV, pointing at the outgoing MP, shouts, “What the hell!” thunder

“When we do politics, we give ourselves body and soul for our population. We sacrifice a lot of time with our families and with our friends and the only little place where we can take refuge is our abode and there, I really feel a breach in my intimacy”, he lamented. .

police check

The scene was partly filmed by the former Victoriaville municipal councillor. We watch his wife run down the street filming license plates of unexpected visitors. “Make sure you don’t show up,” her husband tells her to protect.

The couple lodged a complaint with SQ. Since the beginning of the year, 221 cases of intimidation against politicians have been reported. According to our sources, there has been a sharp jump since the elections were called.

“You’re going to steal my trouble”

Last Thursday’s events are the breaking point of an expedition marked by dangers in this ride of Centre-du-Québec, says Eric Lefebvre.

On 31 August, a vehicle allegedly tried to cause a car driven by the politician’s driver to leave the road on Jutras Boulevard in Victoriaville. He travels in an SUV painted in the colors of political fabric.

On 3 September, Mr. Lefebvre reportedly found a vandalized election poster of his own on the side of the same boulevard. The inscription “Freedom” and the swastika, the swastika, was a symbol of the Nazi ideology.

On 4 September, at the Inverness Beef Festival, a group of men reportedly suggested the MP write his name on a piata so that he could bat on it. “You’re going to steal my distress,” said one of them.

That same evening at the Cowboy Fringuant show in the Bigarre de Victoriaville parking lot, a man allegedly made threatening remarks at an elected official.

irreparable damage

Eric Lefebvre, who is seeking a third term, on the evening of an unexpected vehicular convoy’s visit, condemns the consequences of these acts of intimidation on his daughter-in-law. The teenager has moderate intellectual disability.

“For four years, she was making small progress…she was now able to take a taxi-bus (by herself). It would be difficult to know how many steps we would take because of this incident. Already, the next day, she Didn’t even want to leave the house… When a car passed in front of the house, she said to me: Eric, are they coming back?” The candidate with the lump in his throat says passionately.

On a video provided by Mr. Lefebvre, which is not intended to be published, we see a 16-year-old girl in the arms of her mother in the grip of an actual panic attack who tries to appease her.

The MP, who is also a lecturer in schools in his area, refused to blame his political opponents for the chain of events that threatened him.

“Often, we ask young people to think about the consequences of their actions. Well, today, I’m asking adults,” he concluded.

Our Bureau of Investigation interrogated the five main parties to find out how many of their candidates had experienced similar threats?

Quebec’s Conservative Party claims that two of its workers were stabbed and that some of its candidates were intimidated.

Parti Québécois condemns only a few barbaric posters. Quebec Solidaire and the Liberal Party of Quebec did not respond to our requests.
