Tigres del Licey starter ready to face Tiburones de La Guaira

The month of January is over, but baseball doesn’t stop. February will start it all with the opening day of the 2024 Caribbean Series, which will take place at Ioan Depot Park in Miami. Indeed, the defending champion, Licey Tigers, was the star of an electrifying battle against sharks in La Guaira.

Once again, the Bengalis will represent the Dominican Republic League, whose sole mission is to continue winning trophies of this caliber. However, his first stop was in front of a brave representative like the Venezuelan, who did not hesitate to show all their talent in the field of sports.

On Thursday’s first date, Licey experienced Raul Valdes. In the recently completed LIDOM season, Cubans defended Toros del Este in the regular series and Estrellas Orientales in the semifinal and final.

Between the three times, the left-hander left a 4-8 record in 14 games, with 40 runs allowed, 23 walks, and 45 strikeouts in 60.1 innings.

The Dominican team published on their social networks the rotation of the starters for their first four games in the Caribbean Series. After Valdés faces the representatives of Venezuela, the next games will be against interesting opponents.

For Friday, the North American Brooks Hall has the responsibility to face the Gigantes de Rivas, the champion team of the Nicaraguan league.

On Saturday, the shift is for Cesar Valdez. Another horse of a thousand battles for this team is the star of a promising duel against the monarchs of Puerto Rico, the Criollos de Cagua.

Finally, Andy Otero will end the week with his departure on Sunday. He had to face Naranjeros de Hermosillo, the current champion of the Mexican Pacific League.
