Timberwolves loses to the king

After the Phoenix defeat over the Timberwolves, one question arose. Despite the end result, Minnesota played hard and competed with one of the top NBA teams at Target Center.

But can he do it again? Can Wolves complement one great performance with another?

Short answer: No.

But they won.

Anthony Edwards scored 16 points in the last frame, burying four triples, and led Minnesota to a 107-97 win over Sacramento at Target Center.

If you are Timberwolves, it is better to win ugly than ugly lose. And the environment was definitely ugly.

Sacramento (6-9) flipped the ball over and over again and struggled to shoot but stayed in play as Minnesota offense struggled again and the Kings beat the Timberwolves on attack glass for most of the night.

The game felt like two struggling teams were looking for ways to lose. Sacramento made 14 assists in the first half with 33% of hits from the field and somehow beat the Wolves by four at half-time.

Minnesota (5-9) did come out victorious, amassing enough attacks in the fourth quarter, mostly from Edwards. The standout footballer in his second year took one big shot after another to give Minnesota an airbag in a fourth-quarter draw. Edwards finished with 26 points per night.

Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 22 points and six rebounds, while Patrick Beverly added 14 points, seven assists, six rebounds and three blocks. De’Aaron Fox topped Sacramento with 28 points and five assists.

Minnesota hosts San Antonio in second-half back-to-back for Wolves on Thursday.
