Alliance formed for petty interests will break with time: UML President Olick

CPN-UML president KP Oli has said that his party need not make efforts to break the existing five-party alliance as over time the alliance formed for smaller interests breaks down.

Addressing the Bagmati province-level orientation program organized by UML for its workers on Wednesday, President Oli said no outside effort was needed to break the ruling alliance.

He said, ‘Everyone says, let’s break this alliance. But I say ‘no’, this alliance will break on its own. Because it is an alliance made for selfishness. It will break itself down over time,” he said.

Unified Socialist Chair Nepal instructs cadres not to depend on coalition alone

CPN-Unified Socialist President Madhav Kumar Nepal has instructed party workers not to depend only on the strength of the coalition.

Addressing an orientation program organized for public representatives elected from the Unified Socialist Party in the recently held local elections, Speaker Nepal on Wednesday instructed workers not to rely solely on coalition power.

National cricket coach Pubudu resigns

Nepalese national cricket team coach Pubudu Dashanayake resigned on Wednesday.

According to CAN sources, Pubudu resigned from the post citing personal reasons.

The Nepalese team returned to Nepal on Tuesday after winning only 1 match out of 4 on their tour of Scotland.

Pubudu appointed coach of Canadian cricket team

Less than two hours after the Nepalese national cricket team’s resignation was announced as head coach, Pubudu Dasanayake has been appointed Canada’s coach.

Cricket Canada has made public the information about his appointment as coach through social media.

391 new cases of corona virus have been reported in Nepal in the last 24 hours

A total of 391 new cases of coronavirus were reported in Nepal in the last 24 hours till Wednesday.

Of the confirmed cases, 340 were detected by RT-PCR method and 51 by antigen method.

NEPSE rises nearly 5 points with turnover of Rs 1.73 billion

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) rose 4.89 points to 2050.59 on Wednesday.

This is the eighth consecutive day that the stock market has seen a rally.

Today, while the shares of growth banks, finance, non-life insurance, manufacturing, microfinance, investment and mutual fund groups rose, the banking, business, hotel, hydropower and life insurance groups saw a decline.

NC President Deuba appointed Chitralekha as party’s chief whip

Nepali Congress (NC) Parliamentary Party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has appointed Chitralekha Yadav as the chief whip of the NC party and Min Bishwakarma as the whip.

An NC source said Deuba appointed him on Wednesday.

Earlier, Bal Krishna Khand was the chief whip of Nepali Congress.

View result likely to be published in a week

The result of Secondary Education Examination (SEE) will be declared within a week.

National Board of Examination President Mahashram Sharma said that the result of SEE will be published within a week.
