Tow truck worker arrested for stabbing colleague in Moreno Valley

The California Highway Patrol said Tuesday that a tow truck worker was taken into police custody after he allegedly stabbed his co-worker while the two were driving on the 60 freeway in Moreno Valley, stole the truck and killed his tried to run over a coworker, the California Highway Patrol said Tuesday. 24 May.

CHP said in a press release that it was stabbed on the 60 freeway west of Moreno Beach Drive just before 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, May 22. Two of Headley’s tow workers were involved in an argument inside the truck when the passenger, 38-year-old Francisco Garcia, stabbed the driver several times with a screwdriver, officials said.

The CHP said the driver pulled the truck over the right shoulder and got out of the vehicle. Officials said Garcia then moved to the driver’s seat and attempted to crush the injured driver before fleeing the scene.

The CHP said the stabbing person was taken to Riverside University Health System with minor injuries.

The CHP said that on Monday 23 May, García was located at the Cahuilla Casino Hotel in Anza and was taken into custody by the CHP along with the US Marshals Service. According to Riverside County Jail records, he was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder.

“The safety of the motoring public is our top priority,” said CHP Captain Levi Miller. “CHP takes any incident of highway violence very seriously and actively investigates each one with the ultimate goal of arresting those responsible.”

Officials said the tow truck has not been recovered yet.
