A motorboat suffered a leak off the coast of Cambrils early this afternoon. Finally, a sea rescue ship towed it to Salou.
The report was received at 1218 as the Xaloc motorboat, thirteen meters long and carrying three people, had suffered a leak, which was brought under control by shutting off the engines. In addition, it had a bilge pump. It was located in front of the Vilafortuny Tower.
Maritime Rescue has activated the ship Salvamar Formhaut. On the way there, the captain of the motorboat indicated that he had managed to start the engine and that he was trying to reach the Club NÃ utic de Salou, where he is based, at low speed.
But eventually the Salvamar towed the motorboat, as it was having trouble navigating on a single engine. He left it near the port of Salou as its dimensions do not allow it to be trailered in, and once inside, it is manoeuvrable.
They left the motorboat in the beach area, where it was towed to the port by the Club NÃ utic pneumatics. On the other hand, the sea rescue also had to save another motorboat this afternoon, in this case in Terres de l’Ebre. At 12:56, the seven and a half-meter-long Irala boat with six people on board suffered an engine failure. It was near the port of La RÃ pita but inside the Badia dels Alfacs.
The sea rescue ship Salvamar Achernar, based in La RÃ pita, was on site, and at 1:48 p.m., it made its way to the port of La RÃ pita to tow the motorboat.
