Traffic cameras made a killing in Córdoba last year and, throughout Spain, the General Directorate of Traffic received a record collection of 507,361,888, according to a report published this Wednesday by the organization for the protection of motorists. Associated European (AEA), which reflects the evolution of offenses committed on Spanish roads in the period 2021-2022.
Cordoba is no exception in this collection of races, with a total of 68,607 offenses sanctioned last year, equivalent to 187 every day. It is, according to the data processed by the group of motorists, 38.70% more non-compliant than last time. It must be clarified, however, that part of the 2021 season is still affected by the limits imposed by the covid-19 pandemic, although the AEA states that the DGT collection of the previous year was “a record”.
Of the number of reported incidents in the area, 62.21% were due to speeding. During the year there were 42,680, equivalent to 116 per day, 66.6% more than in 2021. Fixed radars were formidable, with 32,083 negligence detected, a figure representing 102% more than last year; Mobile radars, for their part, have detected 10,597 sanctions, which represents an increase of 8.99% compared to 2021.
The president of the AEA, Mario Arnaldo, expressed his “surprise” at the “significant increase” in the brands to mature not only in Córdoba, but in the whole of Spain, and points to what this trend is. having no effect on the agents, indeed more so, when there is an increase in the quantity of the accident. Hence the “insight” that “objective collection” corresponds to the DGT.
The second most common reason for driving at the end was when the technical surveillance vehicle (ITV) slipped away. In total, the number of drivers detected without this document was 9,653, which represents an increase of 10% over the previous year. Among the offenses that were reduced were driving in a poor condition (225 fines, -11%), failing to pass signals or yielding (395, -25%), not wearing a seat belt (1,615, – 3.47%), not obeying. safe distance (74, -7.50%), reckless driving (7, -46%) and getting behind the wheel after consuming a narcotic substance (391, -36%).
Across the autonomous communities, the AEA report indicates that complaints have increased compared to 2021 in Andalusia (42.8%); Extremadura (32.3%); Cantabria (26.3%); La Rioja (24.7%); Madrid (21.2%); Balearic Islands (18.1%), Community of Valencia (18%); Abyla and Melilla (13.2%); Castile-La Mancha (9.2%); Galicia (1.3%) and the Canary Islands (0.9%). on the other hand, in Navarre (-8%), Castilla y Leon (-2.9%) decreased; Murcia (-2.1%); Aragon (-1.5) and Asturias (-0.4%).
