“Transformers: The Awakening of the Beasts” will be released in Peruvian cinemas on June 7
The stars of the film “Transformers: The Awakening of the Beasts” (“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts”), Anthony Ramos and Dominic Fishbach, and the director, Steve Caple Jr., were fascinated by the magic, mysticism and energy from Machu Picchu in the Cusco region , where they filmed several scenes for the film which will be released in Peruvian cinemas on 7 June.

For its part, the official Transformers account tweeted: “Making history in Machu Picchu. Experience the magic of Peru in #Transformers: #RiseOfTheBeasts, in theaters only June 9th”, the release date in United States theaters.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts director Steven Caple Jr. said, “We have new characters, new robots that haven’t been seen before in these movies. In introducing the ‘Maximals’ into this film, we thought the amazingly beautiful wonders of Peru would really appeal to the characters.”
He insisted that it was filmed atop Machu Picchu, one of the wonders of the world, “where it had never been filmed before. We just thought: Wow! Here we are, how did they do it, this is crazy”. “Clouds were brushing the mountains; it’s a beautiful experience. Yes, it was magical.”
Capel Jr. indicated that the reason for recording at this location was for “the spiritual connection that is felt in holy places”.

Actress Dominique Fischbach expressed with great emotion: “We are in the sanctuary of Machu Picchu and we had a shaman bless the film and honor the Peruvian people.”
“Getting to do this project with all the people I’ve met here will be something we’ll cherish forever,” he said.
For Anthony Ramos, taking part in the film “was a gift and we don’t take it lightly. Some of the biggest challenges were the height, it was raining and carrying equipment. We had to carry everything by hand because we Didn’t want to harm either.”
He assured that you “can feel a completely different energy in Machu Picchu” after remembering that it was also filmed in the city of Cusco. “There was a parade when we were there. Parades were brought from different regions of Peru, each group had its own characteristics, costumes, flags.
Finally, he said, “We shot in the Amazon jungle, dealing with all those elements, this very mysterious thing that Peru has. It’s something very special.”
What is a science fiction film about?
The plot flashes back to 1994, when Noah Diaz (Anthony Ramos), an electronics-savvy ex-soldier, and archaeologist Elena Wallace (Fishback) are part of a battle between the Autobots and three other factions: the Maximals, the Predacons and the Terracons.
The film was shot on location in Peru in the departments of Cusco and San MartÃn; New York suburb of Brooklyn in the United States; and in a Canadian study.
The science fiction film meant the arrival of approximately 1,000 people in the South Andean region, including production staff, actors and a logistical team, who stayed for 20 days filming in locations such as Machu Picchu, Sacsayhuaman and the city of Cusco.
